The DMA Talent Marketing Challenge 2020
13 Sep 2019
Are you an aspiring marketer, or do you know one who’s keen to get stuck into a live client brief?
If so, you’ve come to the right place.
We’ve partnered with Tourism NT and StudentUniverse to give aspiring marketers the opportunity to discover what it’s like to work on a real-life marketing brief and be in with the chance to see their work go live.
.
The Brief
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a marketing campaign for Tourism NT. You will target 18-30-year-olds, highlight the sites they'll love, and ultimately generate bookings to Australia’s Northern Territory via StudentUniverse.
You will have more than likely heard about the bushfires in Australia. These should not influence your marketing plans in any way as they have not affected the Northern Territory. Tourism NT have provided this statement:
"It would have been hard to avoid the coverage of the Australian bushfires in the news over recent weeks and it’s been an incredibly difficult time for parts of Australia. The Northern Territory has been very fortunate to have remained largely unaffected by the bushfires and we’re thankful that our tourism products and experiences right across the Territory are open for business and operating totally normally. Our thoughts are with our fellow Australians through what’s been a challenging time."
We’ve put together a list of FAQs to help you with your response to the brief, which you can view by clicking here. If you have any questions that aren’t covered, please email them to us on dmatalent@dma.org.uk.
.
What Happens Next?
After the first stage of judging, up to eight finalist teams will be invited to pitch their solutions to a panel of judges in London on 7 May 2020, where the winning team will be announced.
Each member of the winning team will win £300 worth of StudentUniverse travel vouchers that you can put towards your own adventure.
.
Why Enter?
This is your chance to work on a real-life brief and see your work made live in June 2020.
The winning team will be invited to StudentUniverse's offices in London during May 2020 to execute their campaign and bring it to life. *Don't worry – you don't have to go to the offices if this clashes with exam times.*
We caught up with 2019’s winning team, GEMM Agency from the University of Greenwich, to find out what opportunities the challenge has created for them and why you should enter. Find out what they had to say by clicking here.
.
Who Can Apply?
- Aspiring marketers who are up for a challenge
- Teams made up of at least three people, with a maximum of six members
- Full-time students – all team members need to be students, but you don’t have to be studying marketing
The closing date for entries is 12 April 2020.
When you're ready to get the ball rolling, hit the button below and download the brief.
Good luck
