Coronavirus: Government Issues Guidance on Working Safely During Coronavirus Pandemic

T-safely.png

On Monday 11 May, the Government issued a 50-page document on the process of easing lockdown. As part of the first phase, beginning Wednesday 13 May, some employers *in England only* were permitted to begin operations once more.

While those who can should continue to work from home, the document outlines that those with jobs in food production, construction, manufacturing, logistics, distribution and scientific research in laboratories should return to the workplace.

For these organisations, the government has now issued further guidance on making safe workplaces, which can be accessed here.

Members who are among those permitted to begin operations once more should ensure every precaution has been taken prior to allowing employees back into the workplace.

Guidance for offices, contact centres and other workplaces which are at present not permitted to begin work is also available. Employers can review the guidance now and begin to plan for the phased return of employees.
