Paul has over 35 years commercial consulting & analytics experience in the development & application of consumer and location data & analytics in online and offline marketing. More recently, Paul has applied his skills to the financial services industry. Having been with Experian for over 17 years, Paul has had global and UK roles across analytics, data development, product management, data strategy and data protection. Prior to joining Experian, Paul was 18 years as Data Director of a consultancy specialising in consumer & location data & analytics, working on major consultancy projects for businesses across all verticals in UK & overseas.

As Experian's Director of Data Privacy & External Governance in the UKI Data Office (who manage the lifecycle for all Experian data), his current focus is on data protection and data governance, having worked extensively on the requirements and impact of regulation, such as the GDPR. Operating as the 1st line data protection / consumer privacy “go to”, he works with relevant areas across the business using his commercial knowledge to translate data protection regulation – existing & future – into meaningful actions required for both the business & clients. Paul works closely with a number of Experian’s clients to help them navigate through the changes to personal data regulation and to share knowledge as appropriate.

Paul is also manages Experian’s external governance engagements with industry bodies, trade associations and advisory boards, ensuring Experian play an influential role in defining guidance, standards and best practise around data sharing and financial and marketing services industry issues. These include the Steering Committee on Reciprocity (SCOR), UK Finance, and the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA). He is also an active member of the Data Protection Finance Group, techUK’s Financial Services Council, the DMA's Customer Data Council and the Market Research Society’s Census and Geodems Group.
