AI. Everyone is talking about it. Are you using it?

With so many AI tools out there, it can be hard to know which ones to use.

But fear not. A collection of our Council and Committee members have let us know the AI tools they're using and why. There might be a few that’ll help you out:

.

1. ChatGPT

Let’s kick off with one you’ve likely heard of! ChatGPT is a chatbot that enables users to refine and steer a conversation towards a desired length, format, style, level of detail, and language.

Adam Williams, DMA Customer Data Council Member and MD at DBS Data Marketing, uses ChatGPT to enhance their business acumen and decision-making capabilities. By exploring topics related to direct marketing, data marketing, and data protection, we’ve utilised ChatGPT's insights, and drafting capabilities to focus on current trends and to innovate strategies.

.

2. MidJourney

MidJourney is an AI imagery tool that converts text prompts into imagery, and is regarded as one of the best generative AI platforms.

Lionel Cull, DMA Creative Committee member and Associate Design Director at RAPP, uses MidJourney as it allows him to push the boundaries of visual expression. It combines his passion for AI technology with artistic exploration, offering infinite possibilities for unique, captivating visuals. It's a medium where innovation meets artistry, enabling him to craft mesmerising and thought-provoking concepts at speed.

.

3. Microsoft Copilot

This AI-powered tool is integrated into Microsoft 365 users and has automated features for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. It serves as your everyday AI companion, helping you find information, create content, and get things done faster.

J Cromack, DMA Governance Committee member and Chief Growth Officer at Edit, part of the Salocin Group, shared with us that they’re already seeing the benefits of Microsoft’s Copilot, with it helping to reduce several mundane workplace tasks, as well as some more time-consuming activities including transcribing and summarising meeting notes. They are now looking to the next phase of prioritising deal flow and content generation for the sales team.

.

4. Dovetail AI

This tool is great for getting the most out of your customer feedback and giving you the insights you need.

Chris Pearce, DMA AI Taskforce member and Managing Director at Clearleft, uses Dovetail AI to aid in the transcription of user testing interviews and sentiment analysis.

.

5. Clearbit

Operate in the B2B world? This AI tool is built to enrich your customer data and verify contact information, find similar companies and individuals, and predict customer behaviour.

Simon Hall, DMA AI Taskforce member and Managing Director & Founder of NextGen Marketing Solutions, uses Clearbit to analyse their website traffic, identify and learn about potential customers and clients, find out insights about their accounts, and uses their TAM calculator to calculate the market size of different industries to identify market potential.

.

A piece of advice…

When using AI tools, Nick Crawford, DMA Tutor and Owner of Twist Consultancy, told us that you should never just copy and paste the response from your AI output. Always check it and apply your HI (human intelligence).
