What is day-to-day life like as a Copywriter, what are the main responsibilities, and what skills do you need to excel?
We chatted to Adrian who has worked as a freelance copywriter, to find out how he finds working in the marketing industry and what it took to get to where is today!

Role Profile
As a Copywriter, you'll be tasked to write interesting marketing and promotional materials for a range of products and services . You may be tasked to write product packaging, articles, labels, brochures and blog posts. Also, you’ll be in charge of helping project a brand voice and ensuring that all copy is consistent with this voice through writing, editing, and proofing materials ensuring the standard is met.

Key responsibilities
- Create copy for a range of media including social, print, video, and online
- Ensuring high levels of editorial standards is met by all content creators
- Push brand consistency across all company communications
- Develop and implement new brand guidelines
- Edit and proofread work created by other content creators
- Be up to date with the latest trends and competitors relating to editing
- Collaborate with creative, marketing, and legal departments to monitor any project needs
- Watch projects develop through the inception to launch and monitor progress individually

Requirements
To be successful as a copywriter you must have excellent writing skills, including the ability to write in different styles to gain the attention of different target audiences
Excellent research and analytical skills to get a good understanding of the subject in question
High level of organisation to manage multiple projects, as well as often meeting tight deadlines
Good listening skills to ensure you understand the clients requirements and effectively develop a project brief
A unique approach in coming up with project ideas and getting a message across creatively and effectively
The ability to work independently and in team based projects flexibly
Good eye for detail, including the ability to proofread your own and others' work ensuring that it meets editorial standards
