Do Data Right With the New DMA Data Protection Templates

As the UK’s data protection landscape evolves with the imminent passage of the Data (Use and Access) Bill, as well as the prospect of AI regulation, organisations face renewed pressure to ensure their data practices are not only compliant but also transparent, ethical, and customer-centric.

In response, the DMA is proud to launch a powerful new suite of data protection templates, exclusive to DMA members, to help businesses “Do Data Right” in accordance with the DMA Code.

Why Now?

The Data (Use and Access) Bill, now nearing Royal Assent, unlocks new opportunities for businesses to innovate and grow without sacrificing the high standards of data protection afforded to individuals. The Bill introduces stricter enforcement mechanisms, larger fines for non-compliance, and greater regulatory clarity, especially around direct marketing.

Doing Data Right, Together

The DMA’s mission has always been to help organisations use data responsibly and in line with the customer first-principles of the DMA Code. Guided by the DMA’s Governance Committee and crafted through the lens of marketeers, these templates, alongside the DMA Legal Helpdesk, give members peace of mind, expert support, and a pathway to compliance in a changing legal environment.

As the Data (Use and Access) Bill reshapes the rules, the DMA is here to ensure you’re not just keeping up, but leading the way.

Explore the full set of five practical templates, each designed to help you navigate the evolving data landscape with confidence:

  1. Data Processing Agreement Template
  2. Data Protection Impact Assessment Template
  3. Digital Advertising Risk Analysis Template
  4. Legitimate Interest Assessment Template
  5. Privacy Notice Template
