On Tuesday, DMA Scotland Chairman, Firas Khnaisser; DMA Managing Director Rachel Aldighieri and External Affairs Executive, Michael Sturrock, met with Scotland’s Minister for Public Finance and Digital Economy, Kate Forbes MSP.
On the agenda were a multitude of issues pertaining to the data and marketing industry in Scotland, including no-deal Brexit and the challenges that it presents for businesses in Scotland and the exciting new work DMA Scotland is doing on the Value of Data.
DMA Scotland is working with stakeholders in the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Deal to deliver a cutting-edge project to establish the Value of Data in the modern economy. Alongside The University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art, the DMA is bringing together key people in business, academia and government to pose and answer the multitude of questions that arise in the world of data, tech, AI and how they impact the way we live in society.
Government engagement and support will be crucial to the success of this endeavour and we are delighted that the Scottish Government has been so supportive from the off.
2019 promises to be an exciting year for DMA Scotland and we will be continuing our work on the Value of Data and expanding our role in the data and marketing industry in Scotland. Watch this space!
