DMA Scotland are celebrating Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2022

The focus of #ScotAppWeek22 (7-11th March 2022) is demonstrating apprenticeships work for Scotland’s business and young talent, by giving them the skills employers need now - and in the future.

To support #ScotAppWeek22, DMA partnered with Speakers for Schools to deliver a virtual Marketing Careers Insight Day on Tuesday 8 March 2022. This event provides the opportunity for young people to explore the marketing industry, the range of different jobs and what people do day to day in their jobs. We want to encourage more 17/18-year-olds into the marketing industry through apprenticeships, particularly those who have decided university pathway is not for them.

Insights Day attendees can then further explore their interest in a career in the marketing industry by attending a 5-day virtual digital boot camp in July, which will be followed by a real-life employability session - in central Scotland (in person, restrictions allowing).

The employability session will support young people with essential skills like how to write a CV, we will give them mock interviews and networking skills. And most importantly, introduce them to DMA members with apprenticeship opportunities. Our Scottish apprenticeship digital marketing partner Sixth Sense Training will be on hand to talk about the range of apprenticeships they offer from the sector.

To help young people discover where their strengths could be within the marketing industry, we created a fun quiz to explore their personality type, with existing entry level job roles they would ace in. Start your journey and reveal your personality type here [https://dma.org.uk/talent/what-type-of-marketer-are-you]

'DMA’s Marketing Career Insight Day really shines an important light to the importance of apprenticeships and how they work in the marketing industry and we are looking forward to meeting future apprentices at the employability session in the summer'.
Jamie McBean, Director, Sixth Sense

‘There are a huge range of apprenticeships available to young people, and we’re looking to put marketing firmly on the radar of those leaving education this year and supporting them into roles’.
Kate Burnett, General Manager, DMA Talent
