There are 33 DMA Awards categories and each one is presided over by a category chair. Learn who they are, what they want from the work you enter in their category - and get a taste for their predictions for the DMAs 2017.

Category: Best out of home

Category chair: David McEvoy, marketing director, JC Decaux UK

"I think out door will move into mainstream data driven marketing and this year will be a real game changing one for the sector."

What will you be looking for from the work in your category?

Last year was the first year that out of home featured as a distinct category at the DMA Awards.

This year I am hoping that the wealth of data driven campaigns in OOH and especially in DOOH (digital out of home) come to the fore.

With 1.3 billion digital viewed impressions every week, the industry has invested heavily in geo and temporal data – so geo contextual campaigns should feature heavily.

Finally the tools have been put in place to manage data and content, so data has moved beyond planning into being part of the actual content. So data rich content is my third hope.

What are your predictions for the 2017 DMA Awards?

I’m going to stick with being parochial. I think out door will move into mainstream data driven marketing and this year will be a real game changing one for the sector.
