Chair: Chris Macleod, marketing director, Transport for London
“I want to see intriguing customer insights, powerful creative work and strong results all simply and elegantly communicated.”
Tell us who you are, what you do and who you do it for
Well I’m an ‘ad man’ by trade!
I joined Transport for London (TfL) in 2007 and I’m responsible for a diverse portfolio of marketing and customer information programmes.
His work ranges from promoting Buses and Tubes to the Santander Cycle Hire scheme, Contactless payment and Road Safety.
In 2012 I oversaw the marketing of Tfl to help deliver a successful Olympic and Paralympic Games. We’ve made TfL become a more customer-focused organisation, and lived up to our ‘Every Journey Matters’ promise.
We’ve won our fair show awards as well, including Campaign’s Advertiser of the Year, Cannes Gold Lions, Marketing Society and IPA Effectiveness awards.
I’m also a regular on the Bakerloo Underground line.
What will you be looking for from the work in your category?
I’ve never judged these awards before and Travel & leisure is a category that has always interested me.
Judging awards is a great way of staying up to date and sharing your insights whilst learning new things too.
So I expect to learn a lot and look forward to sharing my perspectives on the campaigns that head my way.
I want to see intriguing customer insights, powerful creative work and strong results all simply and elegantly communicated.
What are your predictions for the 2017 DMA Awards?
Well I’m hoping to come face-to-face with some great work!
The DMA Awards also assembles a group of really interesting people to come and judge, and I’m sure that I’ll learn something from them as well.
