Throughout January, Accord will release weekly Travel Trends updates, in association with market research specialists GfK. Comparing the latest year-on-year booking data, as well as emerging search trends, this week’s infographic covers the week ending 13th January 2018.

This week, bookings for city breaks, ski holidays and beach getaways have all increased significantly year-on-year. While total tour package bookings continue to be down by 18%, search enquiries for escorted tours have grown by 20.8%, suggesting many consumers interested in tour holidays are currently in the research and consideration phase of the purchase cycle.

In terms of destination bookings, Turkey has once again experienced the biggest popularity growth, increasing by 155% in absolute passenger difference and rising by 100.5% in search queries year-on-year. Egypt has also bounced back after a rapid fall last year, with bookings growing by 62% year-on-year.
