UK marketing industry remains strong, despite Brexit uncertainty
28 Jun 2016
The result of the EU referendum has created uncertainty for our industry. Politicians in the UK and across the EU are starting to come to terms with what the implications of Brexit might be, but clarity is something we will have to wait for.
One thing is certain: the UK’s creative, data and digital industries will remain strong. The UK is a world leader in digital innovation and data driven marketing, creating jobs and driving growth.
For that reason, we should work with both EU and UK officials to take the time to discuss our sector’s relationship with Europe post-Brexit.
One crucial issue will be the continued conversations around important EU legislation that will affect our industry and which UK government officials may no longer be able to take part in. That’s why the DMA will continue to play an active role in FEDMA, ensuring that the UK marketing industry’s voice is heard in Brussels on important issues such as the current consultation on the e-Privacy legislation and moves to create a single digital market.
Throughout this period of uncertainty, the DMA will take a pro-active role in both Brussels and Westminster, ensuring the issues that matter to our members are being heard.
We will continue to provide regular help, support and guidance to you, our members, to keep you up-to-date with the latest news affecting the marketing industry. But please don’t hesitate to contact your DMA team if you have any specific questions or concerns about the implications of Brexit on our industry.
