Nationwide first to sponsor Snapchat Lens and geofilter for A-Level results day

Today marks the first day of autumn and the beginning of fresher’s week for new students starting their first term at university. Only a couple of weeks ago, these very same students were receiving their A-Level results. To mark this momentous occasion, Nationwide launched a bespoke filter on Snapchat to target students receiving their A-Level results across the UK. By targeting their next generation of customers, Nationwide were able to promote their first student account; FlexStudent.
Nationwide are the first brand to sponsor both a Snapchat Lens and filter at the same time, and first financial brand to advertise on Snapchat. Both the geofilter and lens were only available on the A-Level results day (Thursday 18 August) and allowed students to celebrate passing their A-Levels by adding balloons and messages to share with their friends.
This campaign was discussed at the DMA Social Media Council in September 2016.
