Julia Porter tops DataIQ data leader poll

Julia Porter, DMA chair and director of consumer revenues at Guardian Media, has secured the top spot in DataIQ's poll of the 100 most influential people in data in the UK.

Porter joined Guardian News and Media in 2012, and is responsible for their myriad data-driven ventures, which includes CRM, subscriptions, e-commerce, book publishing and their dating site Guardian Soulmates but also their approach to data, summed-up in the video Why Your Data Matters.

She became chairman of the DMA council in early 2014 and played a key part in the development of the DMA Code.

Porter had previously worked at Getty Images and IPC before moving to ITV where she was commercial marketing director, responsible for the rebrand of ITV Studios, launched the ITV Upfronts show, planning and launching the various ITV website portals, and creating a centralised events team which produced more than 140 branded events.

Elsewhere on the list you will find DMA board members Fedelma Good, director, information policy and strategy at
Barclays, Michelle DeSouza, head of CRM and customer insight at Age UK, both recognised as 'Data Titans'. Tim Drye, managing director of DataTalk was recognised as a 'Data Enabler'

Mike Lordan, the DMA's head of external affairs, was also featured on the list as a key influencer.
