If you are looking to power new ideas in your organisation, develop a creative product or service, or undertake research and development to further your own creative practice or business, one or more of the funding opportunities below could be of interest to you!

If you have any questions, please contact the Creative Informatics team who will be happy to help at creativeinformatics@ed.ac.uk.

Resident Entrepreneurs
If you are an individual or a small team that would like to develop a new product or service using data or data-driven technology, you can apply for funding of up to £12,000 to support your work.

Due to current social distancing measures, the Creative Informatics team are accepting applications for Resident Entrepreneur projects that can be completed remotely and do not require applicants to be matched with a host organisation. Successful applicants will still be paired with a mentor from the creative industries through Creative Edinburgh's Mentoring Programme.

Applications close on Monday the 27th of April, find out more and apply now!

Challenge Holders
Challenge Projects offer an opportunity for creative and cultural organisations to bring forward challenges relating to their work that require innovative, data-driven solutions. Potential applicants can come with unformed or semi-formed challenges that can be co-designed with the Creative Informatics team.

Current Challenge Holders include Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society; Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature; The List; Historic Environment Scotland; and Jupiter Artland.

Applications for Round 3 application are open now on a rolling basis, with a final closing date of Monday the 6th of July, and interim submission dates of Monday the 18th of May and Monday the 15th of June.

If you are interested in applying as a Creative Informatics Challenge Holder now, or in the future, join the CI team for the first online Challenge Discovery Workshop on Thursday the 23rd of April, to find out more about the Challenge Project process and discuss your ideas.

Register for the next Challenge Discovery Workshop or find out more and apply now!

Connected Innovators
Connected Innovators supports emerging leaders from within the creative industries who want to take time out to conduct research and development that will enable them to advance their own careers and/or business.
