Creative Informatics funding opportunities for creative industries in Edinburgh and South East Scotland - applications open now!

Connected Innovators
Connected Innovators supports emerging leaders from within the creative industries who want to take time out to conduct research and development that will enable them to advance their own careers and/or business, and benefit the wider creative community.

If you are looking to develop a specific area of your creative practice or business using data or data-driven technology, you can apply for funding of up to £10,000 to support your work. Need some inspiration? Find out more about our current Connected Innovators.

Connected Innovators is delivered by Creative Edinburgh, who will be on hand to help you find the support, skills, and expertise you need to develop your practice and ideas so you can take your work to the next level.

Challenge Holders
Challenge Projects offer an opportunity for creative and cultural organisations to bring forward challenges relating to their work that require innovative, data-driven solutions. Potential applicants can come with unformed or semi-formed challenges that can be co-designed with the Creative Informatics team.

Current Challenge Holders include National Theatre of Scotland, Children’s Parliament, Edinburgh International Festival, Jupiter Artland and Vintage Vibes.

Applications for Round 4 Challenge Holders are open now and close on Monday the 14th of December.

Creative Bridge
Creative Bridge is a free course for creatives in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, run by CodeBase, which aims to demystify the tech world and its jargon, introducing participants to the building blocks of digital product development.

A pre-accelerator course, Creative Bridge is primarily designed for creatives with early stage business ideas, or no ideas, with core sessions on markets, understanding customers and pitching. Creative Bridge also hosts creative entrepreneurs from around the world, who share stories about how they made something amazing happen, and how they’ve failed. Hear from some past participants in this Creative Bridge alumni video.

The next cohort of Creative Bridge will run from 1pm to 4pm every week, from Wednesday 10 February to Wednesday 14 April 2021 on Zoom.

Creative Informatics is a collaboration across the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier University, Codebase and Creative Edinburgh.
