Call For Member Input: ICO guidance on Anonymisation, pseudonymisation and privacy enhancing technologies guidance
14 Jun 2021
The ICO is calling for views on the first draft chapter of its Anonymisation, pseudonymisation and privacy-enhancing technologies draft guidance.
Some organisations have expressed concern over the strict interpretation of personal data in reference to home address, so members may wish to examine this and feed their views into the DMA's response to the ICO.
This first draft chapter, Introduction to anonymisation, defines anonymisation and pseudonymisation. It explores the legal, policy and governance issues around the application of anonymisation and pseudonymisation in the context of data protection law.
This call for views is the first stage in the process and we will consult on the full draft guidance in the autumn. Please get in touch with Michael Sturrock and John Mitchison with your views for inclusion in the DMA's responses to both. You can provide your feedback to the ICO directly as well by emailing anonymisation@ico.org.uk.
