Brexit: join the DMA in Parliament for drinks and discussion
15 May 2019
On Friday, talks between Labour and the Conservatives trying to bring the two parties to agreement on the way forward for a Brexit deal collapsed. With EU Parliament elections on Thursday, the Brexit beast is beginning to rear its ugly head once more.
In what is set to be a tumultuous few weeks, it looks as if Theresa May's Conservative party will be near-eviscerated in the upcoming European elections. The Brexit Party will likely make substantial gains in many areas.
Then, after all this, Theresa May is choosing to bring her unpopular deal back to Parliament (she claims to have a 'bold' new proposition as part of her deal) to see if MPs will finally see the light and get behind her deal.
Led balloons come to mind.
There shall be plenty of drama and news to catch up over the next few weeks. Excitingly, the DMA can offer you the chance to come to Parliament and hear what's going on right from the epicentre of the Brexit earthquake.
On 24 June, the DMA will be sponsoring the Debating Group's annual reception. The Group - made up of 12 trade bodies - come together monthly to debate a hot topic of the day in Parliament. This evening of drinks and canapes will be a great opportunity to chat with policymakers and senior figures from across the industry.
Remarks will be given by The Rt. Hon Dame Cheryl Gillan MP, who is President of the Debating Group.
DMA CEO, Chris Combemale, will also be speaking about unveiling the DMA's new brand identity.
Admission is by ticket only. Apply for tickets from Debating Group Secretary, Doreen Blythe (Doreen.blythe.22@btinternet.com) by 17 June.
