The ICO has also issued its first-ever guidance on Consent or Pay models. This new clarification confirms that such models are legal in the UK, providing much-needed clarity for publishers and organisations relying on digital revenue models.
It confirms that businesses can lawfully offer users the choice between:

Consenting to data use for personalised advertising, or

Paying for an ad-free experience.
