Social and Community Engagement Lead

What is day-to-day life like as a Social and Community Engagement Lead, what are the main responsibilities and what skills do you need to excel?

We chatted to Sarah Theaker, who is currently working as a Social and Community Engagement Lead at TMW Unlimited, to find out what day-to-day life is like in her role.

Role Profile

As a Social and Community Engagement Lead it will usually be your responsibility to ensure diffrent aspects are kept to the optimal performance and run smoothly. These consist of a range of activities in relation to the community such as Marketing, Communications, Supervisory and Fundraising activities for the organisation. You may also be in charge of supervising volunteer programs in the case of a special event where external support is required. Therefore your organisational skills should be of the best level as this postiion requires that you sit for longer periods of time at the desk ensuring thart essential postion duties are performed to the best of your abilities.

Key responsibilities

- Supervising the community relation activites and programs, ensuring that are organisaed and run with no mishaps

- Provide leadership and give support to the sub community engagement teams during activities.

- Oversee the fundraising activities for events and create a fund development plan for where funds will be allocated

- Ensure the program goals are in mind constantly and convey the company goals and values through events.

- Collaborate with the special events coordinator and give support to the volunteers making them feel instructed and assured of their role

- Seek opportunities to engage with wider stakeholder and improve links with other projects which are relevant

-. Respond to enquiries by telephone, email and post in good timing to ensure customer satisfaction

- To prioritise work, work to deadlines and work under pressure during period when workload is very high

Requirements

Understand the goals which have been set out for each project and ensure that you try to meet them

Excellent leadership qualities to ensure that you have a good ability control a team during projects that require good organisation

Ability to be maintain a sense of calmness and composure when personal resources are challenged

Demonstrate a good intiaitive when conveying excellent planning and organisation skills

Have a good a understanding of the requirements of the client and their requirements

Ensure support staff are in place to support indiviiduals who require special needs during various programs
