DMA and Econsultancy to launch digital skills training partnership in 2014

The Direct Marketing Association and Econsultancy have announced they are partnering to launch a series of co-branded digital training courses for marketing practitioners in 2014.

The partnership will initially see six courses run from January to March. Subject areas will range from a fast track introduction to digital marketing skills to day-long courses focused on developing advanced customer experience, multichannel, email marketing, content and ecommerce skills.

While the DMA runs a long-established annual programme of workshops, seminars, summits and networking events, this is the first time it has expanded its offering to include training courses focusing on specific digital subjects. The content of the training will draw on Econsultancy’s renowned digital marketing and ecommerce insight and will be taught by acclaimed experts in their field. The sessions will be held at the DMA’s newly refurbished HQ by Oxford Circus.

Commenting on the partnership Chris Combemale, executive director of the DMA, said:

“Joining forces with Econsultancy will give us the scope and additional resources we need to up-skill the industry and help marketers learn the latest techniques for creating a digital experience that puts the customer at the centre of their one-to-one to millions campaigns.

“Econsultancy is the perfect partner for us because of its recognised expertise and credibility as a digital marketing trainer. Our location by Oxford Circus also will be a convenient draw for the many practitioners based around the major hubs of Central London and East London.”

Justin Weddle, Head of Professional Development at Econsultancy, added:

“It’s never been more important for traditional marketers to understand digital. At Econsultancy, we believe that digital should be a fundamental part of any marketing strategy. By partnering with the DMA, Econsultancy can help more marketers to develop their knowledge and skills and to move into the digital era.”

The first set of six training courses will be:

Usability and persuasion in ecommerce - 21 January

Fast track digital marketing - 28 January

Multichannel marketing - 11 February

Digital content strategy - 25 February

Advanced email marketing - 5 March

Creating superior customer experiences - 26 March
