DMA copywriting clubs
21 Jan 2016
The DMA is bringing a series of copywriting clubs to locations across these fair isles in the coming months.
Following the launch of the Campaign for great British copywriting, we’ve championed several initiatives to keep the debate about writing sizzling red-hot. Our copywriting clubs are a great way to do just that.
We gathered before Christmas in Manchester at the offices of Cube3 for the inaugural northern copywriters event. Led by Cube3’s head of content Dan Nixon, we marched through topics such as content vrs copy; how to capture new talent; the coming force that is the North’s creative scene; and how to beat the old client adage that, well, “anyone can write, right?”
It proved a great forum for a passionate debate on the craft by the leading practitioners outside of the M25.
We’re in Manchester again on Thursday 18 February for the next Copywriting Club – North event. We'll be talking about that the "D" word - digital - and the role it plays in the copywriting today. Find out more and book your place here.
We're also in Bristol on the same evening to open our West and Wales Copywriting Club chapter. As well as a natter about all things copy, we'll hear from Tangible on how great writing saw them lead the industry and scoop a Gold at the DMAs (Door drop category). There's more on the Bristol meet-up and booking info here.
See you all soon.
