Escape to the sunshine with Teddy Craig, head of content at The Lane Agency, as Copywriting Club - Edinburgh splashes through the clear blue waters of copywriting and creative work for travel and tourism campaigns

When it comes to travel and tourism advertising campaigns, there's a rich history to look back on.

Whether we're talking about iconic railbreak posters from the early 20th century, Paul Hogan asking "Where the bloody hell are you?" or even the North Korean regime's notion that there's only the right video campaign between them and a rush of bookings, there are plenty of travel and tourism copywriting examples to examine and discuss.

And what of that magical term, 'engagement'? What does it mean in terms of travel copywriting?

Have things really 'changed forever' or are the same emotional triggers just being applied in different ways because of the growth of channels available? Bring along an example of travel or tourism copywriting (it can be from any channel) that you'd like to discuss.

Your leader is Teddy Craig, head of content strategy at Edinburgh's The Lane Agency. He's also been a stand-up comedian, a writer and editor for TV and radio and a man whose acerbic tweets have cropped up across Scottish media. He knows his stuff.

Either way we’ve got food, we’ve got drinks, and great people to meet and mingle with and for you to fight the good copy fight with.

See you there.
