What to consider when writing your business lead generating book
18 Feb 2015
Who is it for?
Who do you want to pick up your book and be so inspired by it that they want to do business with you straight away? Once you have clarified this, pulling together the content for your book will become much easier.
You need to be very specific about your target audience. You need to be sure that you know everything about them from their interests to their location. Most importantly, you need to know how your product or service will improve their lives.
It’s far better to choose a niche than trying to appeal to everybody. People interested in very specific topics will be far more interested in a specialist book on the subject than a generalist one. The more niche your book is, the more likely these ideal customers will find it while searching for information online and be sufficiently interested to order a copy.
If you’re unsure about this, then do some research? Get involved in online forums. All this needs to be crystal clear before you start writing your book.
Be aware of the competition
What other books are available on your chosen subject? There may well be a great many on the shelves already, so it’s important that you differentiate. Don’t get so emotionally attached to a subject that you can’t accept there aren’t any opportunities for business growth in it. Look for an opportunity to stand out and tackle something that nobody else has.
