Join business leaders and experts from John Lewis, Sky, L’Oreal, people.io, Marketing Week, Experian, Opt-4, the ICO and more for a Data Protection update

Our keynote speakers are:

  • Steve Wright, chief privacy officer at John Lewis

Steve has more than 20 years’ experience in privacy and data protection, now leading at the John Lewis Partnership, previously holding the equivalent post at Unilever. He will talk about the future of the marketing industry post-Brexit, and outline what John Lewis is doing to prepare for this and the GDPR.

  • Nicholas Oliver, founder, people.io

Entrepreneur and marketer Nicholas Oliver will speak about the importance of a consumer-centric data experience and how his latest venture people.io enables consumers to licence their data to brands, in addition to the potential implications of data portability, one of the most important changes introduced by the GDPR. He also founded C8 Asset Management and held the position of global creative technical director at WPP’s Team Detroit for client Ford.

  • Iain Bourne, policy delivery group manager, the Information Commissioner’s Office

In two decades at the Information Commissioner’s Office, Iain has worked across data protection issues, specialising in healthcare, new technology and international issues. His expertise in information sharing, particularly the right to be forgotten and anonymisation has led him to devote his time to post-Brexit data protection in the UK. He will discuss data protection certainties, uncertainties and the ICO's priorities going forward.

We will also host smaller breakout sessions with speakers including:
  • Fedelma Good, director, information policy & business controls, Barclays. Fedelma will share Barclays’ experiences of preparing for GDPR compliance by May 2018. She has practical advice for attendees and will take questions.
  • Fraser Hynes, research director, Millward Brown. Fraser will explore why the world’s most powerful B2B brands are behaving like consumer brands. This new trend also ties to the EU GDPR, where B2B and consumer marketing will be treated the same for the first time.
  • Paul Malyon, data strategy manager, Experian Data Quality who will offer practical advice on how your business can prepare for the EU GDPR.
