Yesterday, 21st April 2016 marked a special occasion in history. Not only did our Queen "actually" turn 90, but she turned 90 on the same day she announced TLC Marketing as winners of a Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade.

But awards mean nothing if your not going to tell the world about them, and to tell the world you need a troop. As a small PR and Marketing team of just one, the most valuable asset I have are my colleagues. They may not be in my immediate team, but they are there to support every piece of activity I do. It dawned on me yesterday that if it wasn't for this crazy bunch (who will wear bejewelled paper crowns all day, sing happy birthday to a cardboard cut out of the Queen, enjoy scones with jam on the roof terrace and take loads of pictures of it all for me to share on Twitter) it would have been a pretty dull event.

Yesterday the @TLCMarketingUK Twitter account showed an increase of 527% in engagement and our LinkedIn company page had an average increase of 760% in likes. These stats show that getting your team behind you is essential. Luckily for me they all do this without much convincing.

TLC Marketing, officially one of the best places to work and now a winner of The Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Business 2016.
