FEDMA Conference in Budapest: E-Privacy Update and GDPR Countdown

On Monday, DMA CEO and the current chair of FEDMA, Chris Combemale, convened the meeting of the Federation European Direct Marketing Associations in Budapest.

Mathilde Fiquet from FEDMA presented an update on the E Privacy regulation which is currently being consulted on in the European Commission. The Bulgarian Presidency is set to release their response in the summer. Other responses from Austrian and Romanian presidencies will follow later this year and early next year respectively.

While much is to be decided, FEDMA can now coordinate lobbying activities across all member direct marketing associations. The UK DMA external affairs team works very closely with FEDMA and will continue to bring the views of our members to the governments in Westminster and Brussels.

FEDMA’s Geraldine Proust also presented a data protection update and facilitated a discussion on GDPR readiness. Rest assured that the UK Direct Marketing Association is just as on top of it as our members.
