Spring has almost sprung, so lets take a look back at our 2015 highlights, a year that saw over 4,000 marketers trained by NMI!

Exam Automation

Our subject matter revolves around an industry that demands automatic and real-time results. Why should our certification process be any different? In Q1 2015, NMI automated its exams using Classmarker. This professional online exam platform allows digital submission of answers and real time results.

Certification Revamp

We completely revamped our certification offering to fall under a set of three tracks:

Introduction to Digital Marketing gives newcomers an overview of the industry at large. Yet, the feedback told us that people wanted more in-depth, programmatic specific instruction . We listened and added Programmatic 101.

We rebranded our T1 Platform courses under new names to clarify the intended audiences. The T1 Beginner course teaches the basics of uploading creatives and adding pixels. It allows users to put together campaigns and strategies, as well as FBX and video creatives. It also introduces “The Brain.” T1 Advanced covers optimization scenarios. It dives deeper into “The Brain,” and facilitates ongoing campaign maintenance.

Our Omnichannel certification is a 3-session set that delves into mobile, social and video advertising online. Thereby ensuring marketers are current on initiatives aside from regular display.

Language Translation Prioritization

As MediaMath's global expansion continues, it’s important for us to scale our certification offerings. NMI has made it a priority to translate content for learners across the globe. Our Grovo videos are available in 8 languages. We began to translate all certification content into Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese. This will continue this in 2016!

NMI in LatAm

In November, MediaMath's Latin America based clients dialed in to live Spanish TerminalOne training. These trainings are now facilitated on a regular basis.

Marketing Engineer Program

2015 marked the launch of our UK Marketing Engineer Program. Since June, we’ve run two programs in London. We completed our third program in NYC. To date, 36 participants have graduated MEP. All of whom have found full-time positions immediately after completing the program. These roles are both within MediaMath and with partners and clients. The graduates have joined such teams as Product, Programmatic Strategy, Analytics, Campaign Management, Publisher Solutions, and AdOps.

The new year brought new changes to MEP. Our NYC program condensed to 13 weeks, aligning with our London program. And there were even more opportunities for partners and clients to get involved. Recruitment for our 2016 programs are already underway, so if you’re interested in learning more, check out our MEP webpage.

Masterclass Launch

NMI's Michelle Said and Vanessa Visco held three customized Masterclass sessions in New York and London. Participants ranged from undergraduate students to industry professionals. The first Masterclass took place at MediaMath’s HQ at 4 WTC in New York City. The London sessions took place at Loughborough University and the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) UK. The latter drew an impressive crowd, including Mail Online, Marriott International, and Teads.TV. The positive feedback from these Masterclass sessions was overwhelming and led to many exciting partnership opportunities for 2016…stay tuned!

IAB UK

In July MediaMath and NMI joined the board for the IAB UK. This placed us amongst other Industry leaders including, Google, Facebook and Twitter. We can now help guide the IAB’s strategic focus and collaborate with them on key initiatives. Our Introduction to Digital Marketing Certification, Programmatic 101 and Omnichannel Certifications have all been IAB endorsed. This further strengthens our brand in the UK and beyond.

IAB Digital Leadership Program

We were thrilled to announce our partnership with the IAB's Digital Leadership Program. This curriculum is the first of its kind. It was created specifically for digital media professionals. Enabling them to develop their skill set and become leaders in the space. Elise James-Decruise, VP NMI, joined other digital marketing leaders on the Advisory Board. The preliminary sessions took place in October in New York City.

Step Up

NMI and Step Up are now official partners! Step Up empowers female high school students to become confidents, college bound and career focused adults. Working on three programs with Step Up, NMI contributes content and hosts students on a monthly basis at WTC.

Start Up Institute

Our partnership with Start Up Institute has been a great success. We have partnered with their students on many projects such as creating an NMI Social Strategy and an NMI App, exciting!

ATD Forum

NMI announced Elise James-Decruise's membership of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) Forum Advisory Group. She is helping to shape forum activities through thought leadership and collaboration. The ATD Forum provides a unique opportunity to network, share and learn from colleagues in the learning and development space. In October, Elise shared NMI’s best practices and wins to senior talent development professionals. She looks forward to sharing her expertise in 2016.

Penn State Keynote

In September, Elise James-Decruise presented a keynote speech at Penn State’s “Digital Week”. This marked the university’s introduction of a new minor in digital advertising. Elise walked the audience of 100 Advertising/PR students through the history of digital advertising. The presentation simplified complex acronyms and introduced key industry players. This exciting event kicked off the NMI/Penn State partnership that will become official in Spring 2016.
