Legal update.png

Deciphering new legislation, particularly the new EU GDPR, and how it will change the way your business works can be a full time job. That’s why we employ solicitors – so they can do the work for you.

Come to a legal update in Edinburgh, to hear expert views that will be relevant for your business.
The session covers existing law and speakers will discuss new changes to legislation, in particular the EU GDPR which will have major implications for all businesses that deal with data.

All speakers work closely with the Information Commissioner’s Office and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and lobby on legislation affecting data protection, big data, nuisance calls and contentious issues associated with one-to-one marketing.

Speaking will be:

  • DMA solicitor James Milligan, who has followed the progress of the GDPR for more than a decade
  • Laura Irvine, solicitor advocate & a regulatory lawyer at BTO Solicitors, will discuss “If things go wrong, how do you manage an ICO investigation?” using practical examples
  • DMA external affairs manager Zach Thornton will present our legal affairs round-up, focusing on the ePrivacy Regulation

You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions specific to your business. This update is ideal for professionals in compliance roles, business owners and marketers who take best practice seriously.
