There are 33 DMA Awards categories and each one is presided over by a category chair. Learn who they are, what they want from the work you enter in their category - and get a taste for their predictions for the DMAs 2017.

Category: Best use of email

Category chair: Skip Fidura, client services director, dotmailer

Tell us who you are, what you do and who you do it for?

Skip Fidura, client services director, dotmailer

What will you be looking for from the work in your category?

Everybody always says that email is boring and not very creative. I know that this cannot be farther from the truth so I will be looking for entries that have a clearly defined strategy and creatively use internal and external data to have human conversations at scale across an entire campaign. I am also looking forward to seeing entries from clients using upstream marketing automation to make their jobs easier and downstream automation that makes their communications more relevant.

What are your predictions for the 2017 DMA Awards?

There are strict NDAs in place which prohibit me from saying too much but I know that there will be heated debate over each category winner and an even more fierce debate over the Grand Prix winner, which will result in a showcase of work which will make us proud.

I can also guarantee that December 5th will be one of the best nights and December 6th will be one of the slowest days of the year.
