Facebook For Business is the latest move by the social media giant to woo business and gain one-upmanship over newcomer Google+.
Launched on 26 July, it’s an online education centre aimed at small businesses and comes just days after Google upset business users by deleting corporate accounts on Google+, including major names Mashable and Ford.
Facebook For Business is a step-by-step guide to help smaller businesses take advantage of the tools on the social networking platform.
Aimed at companies that don’t have a corporate presence on the site, it takes business users through the basics of creating pages and integrating ads, and explains how to use sponsored stories, social plug-ins and custom apps.
This isn’t the first move by Facebook to shake off the competition. Earlier this month, Facebook blocked a tool that allows users to export and import data to and from other web clients – including Goolge+.
Facebook argued that the tool violated the site’s terms and conditions, which was why it disabled it.
However, with Google saying it plans to make business accounts available on Google+ by the end of year, the battle is just beginning.
